This book is an awesome way to teach your children about pioneer life! It has tons of cool activities and fun facts about this interesting time in history.

I thought the fictional stories were cool in this book, but I didn't like the negativity between the brothers and sisters. It really made my head ache. However, the real bright spot of this book is the way the author skillfully inserted a ton of historical content!

It is a great way to teach your kids about pioneer life. Who knows, you may learn something new, too! Being able to see tons of nooks and crannies in a backwoods pioneer family's life is a fun experience!

There are super fun activities, too! I really enjoyed flipping through the pages and then finding a fun craft! Even if you don't have the materials for one, there are lots more to choose from.

The pictures in this book are very detailed, too! You can almost see the mother making maple syrup candies in the snow with her kids crowding around her. And yes, it teaches you how to do that, too!!!

I recommend this book for anyone who loves history, pioneer stories, and fun crafts and activities!
